It’s tough in any area of business or life to operate solo and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.
The one thing I’ve discovered to be truer than any out of the things I’ve learnt since leaving corporate is this:
 
Entrepreneurs are great at having ideas and bringing them to life. 
It’s the rest of the business surrounding their product (or service) where they most often feel overwhelmed.
 
An entrepreneur is born when someone with a special passion sees a need which they are inspired to fill.
Whether it’s a piece of art being created or a computer services business makes no difference.
 
That passion drove them to create something around which grows a business.
Me? I’m the other way round.
 
I often think of entrepreneurs as superheroes. Amazing, daring, inventive and out to change the world.
 
I think of myself as hero-support. My passion is to help these entrepreneurs change the world by supporting them through the maze that is the world of business.
 
I provide entrepreneurs with an experienced business management sounding board. 
Letting them talk out their business struggles allows me to shift their perspective to one of possibilities, not problems.

I’ve gotten to work with many different entrepreneurs & solopreneurs helping them to gain clarity & self-assuredness in their business. 
 
Through taking the lessons I’d learnt from my years in business, distilling it down and showing them how to apply these learnings to their own business they were able to confidently spread their wings so that they could soar.
They needed bite-sized knowledge to fit their current opportunity or obstacle.
They needed their perspective shifted.
To expand their idea of what was possible.
They needed a sounding board who believed in the impossible dream.
An allay walking alongside them working towards the impossible.
A sidekick as they walk into on-coming fire.
 
I’ve done the impossible so many times over.
It’s possible.

Years ago while working with one of my entrepreneurs I began an online, weekly focused discussion for her small remote team. We wanted to connect the team in a more relaxed way I hosted it every Friday morning for 30 min. 

Over a cup of coffee (or tea!) we shared our thoughts and perspectives on the content which I’d set for the week. We learnt a lot about each other, ourselves and how to see things through other people’s eyes.

We expanded our perspectives.

Under the Trees is a discussion between entrepreneurs, business people, professionals and interesting people from different industries with varied backgrounds and points of view. 
 
The discussions are sparked off a piece of topical content from around the web which I send out 48 hours in advance. We keep tightly focused and on topic while hearing the thought provoking insights from the people who join in on the discussion.
Most importantly,  whether or not everyone agrees with each other is besides the point – it’s your thoughts which spark from this starting point that we are interested in hearing!
